Recipe–Vegan Apple Cinnamon Raisin Scones

So, I was looking for something new to have for breakfast as I was getting tired of scrambled tofu or fruit salad.  So, I decided to make scones after hearing my husband mention it in passing that he could “Really Go For One”!  I went online and looked for a recipe that I thought might work. After going through many recipes and not finding one that I thought worked good enough.
I went onto vegweb.com and found one and just adapted it to make it work to my likings. So, here it is:
   
Ingredients:

  •     2 cups unbleached all purpose flour (Spelt Flour optional)
        3 teaspoons baking powder
        1/4 teaspoon salt
        2 tablespoon turbinado sugar or Raw Cane Sugar
  •     1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  •     1 teaspoon apple pie spice (optional)
        1/4 cup margarine, softened
        1 cup raisins  
        3/4-1 cup nondairy milk
   
'Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Mix dry ingredients together.  Cut in margarine until crumbles form.
2. Stir in milk and raisins.  Drop a spoonful (or make them into cute shapes, like the hearts I made this morning) onto an ungreased baking sheet.
3. Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until just brown on top.
Source of recipe: I adapted these from a biscuit recipe on this website; I am sure one could play with the spices/ flavorings here. Please let me know how they turn out!

Serves: 8 - 12, Preparation time: 5 - 10 min
